A little on the quiet side this week, but there are still fish to report!
Shawn I hit Central Mass again and ended up getting skunked. That’s why it’s called fishing, not catching!
Nelson got out a couple times this week. On his first outing he found bass and pickerel on a chatter bait in shallow water and also a little deeper with weighted soft plastics. On his second outing, it was a little tougher as it took a while to find biting fish. Nelson did find some in deeper water on a ned rig and reports that water temperatures were in the low to mid 60’s. He also said that he has driven by a few popular trout fishing ponds and haven’t seen many people out there. It looks like much cooler weather next week which should have the fish feeding heavily. Get out there and get em!
You can check out which bodies of water have been stocked here on the MA Fish & Game website!
Cousin Jon got out once this week in the southern Pioneer Valley for a short jaunt. He caught two pickerel on finesse presentations, and reports that one was decent sized. Jon said that his buddy Ryan got 1 largemouth on a finesse set up as well.
Tim hit up Congamond Monday and reports that the water temperatures are starting to dip, coming in at 63 degrees. He said the wind was up which he used to find wind blown shorelines and chuck a spinner bait; It did not disappoint! Tim caught 4 solid fish until he donated my bait to the depths on a backlash. He also caught another decent fish on a rattletrap.
The weather looks like it’s going to drop starting on Saturday, so as Nelson mentioned the fish are going to be feeding. Good luck out there everyone and as always, tight lines!
