Happy Thursday! As the weather gets cooler, the fishing has slowed down a bit. Only 2 of our jig heads made it out this week.
Tim hit Congamond this week with no luck.
Shawn the Fisherman was able to get out once this week. He participated in the Massachusetts Kayak Bassin (MAKB for the new reader) annual Catch ‘Em All Fall Brawl! I’ve fished a couple of these over the years, both the Fall and Spring editions, and was looking forward to hitting a small pond on the Cape to see how many 12″+ bass I could yank out of it.
Shaw said the water was finally in the low 50s, and he maintained a steady bite all day, finishing with over 350″ on mainly 12-14″ Largemouth out of dense weeds. Chatterbait and a ned rigged creature bait accounted for 26 of his 29 greenbacks. The other 3 were from lipless cranks (2) and a suspending jerkbait.
All in all, the fall bite is here, you just may have a short drive to it. Also, air and water temps have dropped sufficiently to apply the “Rule of 120°”. Please take the proper precautions when heading out on the water!
A huge shout out to Shawn and Nelson as they embark on an adventure as a part of the Three Belles Outfitters 2021-2022 Regional Fishing Team! Congrats guys!
That’s all for now! Tight lines!
